RFI supports urgent implementation of the government’s Western Rail Plan following announcement that the Education City precinct in Werribee will not proceed.
Including recommendations for urgent investigation and implementation of some smaller capital projects, a package of specific service frequency improvements for metro and regional trains and the tram network, urgent consideration of specific rolling stock projects and related issues, higher priority on some previously approved projects on which progress appears to be lagging, funding of intensive planning to finalise the scope, concept design and business cases for already announced specific large and smaller infrastructure projects, and more.
